AAPS Student Chapter
Rutgers University AAPS Student Chapter seeks to support the pharmaceutical science community. We are determined to foster a culture of education, networking and professional development. We host scientific seminars, professional and leadership development, community outreach program and networking events within Rutgers community. Our goal is to educate students and provide resources to benefit all future Pharmaceutical Science or related field professionals at Rutgers University.
Meet the Board
Anika Haq
President
Anika is a PhD student (since 2016) of the Department of Pharmaceutical Science at Rutgers University. Currently, she is working under Professor Bozena Michniak in Center for Dermal Research in the area of topical and transdermal drug delivery. Her research focuses on different strategies to overcome skin barrier to successfully deliver active molecules to treat various medical conditions such as psoriasis, skin cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. She is an active member of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and Society of Cosmetic Chemists and have successfully organized several scientific seminars at Rutgers University. Anika enjoys watching movies, reading, traveling and trying new cuisine.
Rose Soskind
Vice President
Rose Soskind is the Vice President of the Rutgers AAPS Student Chapter. She is a May 2017 graduate of the PharmD program at Rutgers and is in her first year of the Pharmaceutical Science PhD program in Dr. Michniak-Kohn’s group. Rose’s research interests are in targeted drug delivery and photomedicine, and her PhD studies are on polymer nanotechnology for dermal drug delivery applications. Rose enjoys performing scientific research, and has interned at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Germany and for the Analytical and Bioanalytical Development group at Bristol-Myers Squibb. In addition to research, Rose enjoys reading, attending music concerts, traveling, hiking, swimming, and rock climbing.
In Heon Lee
Secretary
In Heon Lee is a New Jersey-registered pharmacist and a PhD candidate in pharmaceutical science at Rutgers University (Piscataway, NJ). He received his PharmD from Rutgers University in 2015. He joined Dr. Patrick J. Sinko’s lab in 2013 as part of the PharmD/PhD Dual Degree Program. His research is focused on receptor-mediated delivery of nanoparticles in HIV and breast cancer. Besides research, he loves spending time with his wife Rachel and their dog Jjang.”

My current research interests involve improving our understanding of CNS related disposition through the utility of PKPD modeling and simulation efforts. When I am not in the lab working I am usually spending my time unwinding with a good book, cooking a warm meal and finding concerts of my favorite artists to attend.
