Naloxone Pre-Training Seminar

Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and APhA-ASP are organizing an opioid awareness outreach training program. This initiative will educate those who participate in the program on the signs and symptoms of overdose, providing background in how the opioid epidemic affects New Jersey (NJ), and educating on NJ opioid legislation and statutes.

The program launches with naloxone training seminar led by pharmacy students and key opinion leaders. This preliminary education will serve as a supplement to the naloxone administration training certification. The long term goal of the program is to include interprofessional education as pharmacy, medical, and nursing students at the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) will be training together and to expand outreach to local communities.
