Research Interests

Cancer prevention studies with natural and synthetic agents such as triterpenoids, vitamin D and vitamin E family, stilbenoids and other chemopreventive agents in cancer cell lines as well as in animal models of breast cancer and colon cancer Investigation of novel Gemini vitamin D analogs in the regulation of Notch signaling in breast cancer stem cells Investigation of mechanisms of action of dietary tocopherols in animal models of breast cancer Combination treatment of statins and NSAIDs in the inhibition of colon cancer development in animal models Molecular mechanism studies targeting TGF-beta/Smad, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), inducible cyclooxygenase (COX-2), and NF-kB in carcinogenesis Mechanism studies of anti-inflammatory and chondrogenic action of chemopreventive agents using in vitro, organ culture and in vivo models of osteoarthritis
