Clinical Interests
Primary clinical interests include the role of clinical pharmacy in integrated behavioral healthcare, innovations in care delivery in ambulatory care settings, and medication therapy management for underserved populations. Dr. McCarthy’s practice site is the Henry J. Austin Health Center which is a Federally Qualified Health Center in Trenton, New Jersey. Dr. McCarthy provides administrative services in her role as the Director of Pharmacy as well as clinical services, providing direct patient care via disease-state management for chronic medical conditions, with a focus on endocrinology, neurology, and psychiatry.Research Interests
Actively engaged in a number of research studies to evaluate the impact of adding a pharmacist to the care team in a Federally Qualified Health Center. Research efforts are being conducted to define the role of the pharmacists within such settings while providing insight into how and to what extent clinical pharmacist can influence clinical outcomes, quality of life, healthcare utilization, satisfaction with care, and patient and provider knowledge.Scholarly Activities
