Clinical Interests

Dr. Bridgeman’s personal areas of clinical interest include innovative solutions to foster excellence in interprofessional practice and care, ensuring safe and optimal medication use for hospitalized adults, management of diabetes, and use of cannabis for therapeutic purposes, including collateral effects and harms reduction strategies

Research Interests

Dr. Bridgeman’s research is focused on optimization of medication use in the acute care hospital setting. Special emphasis interest areas include self-care and use of nonprescription medicines, environmental impact of medication use, management of diabetes, drug dosing considerations for individuals with chronic and end-stage kidney disease, use of cannabis for therapeutic purposes and collateral health effects attributed to cannabis use. Dr. Bridgeman is additionally interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning and evaluating impact of incorporation of novel teaching methods in the didactic and experiential curriculum. Dr. Bridgeman collaborates closely with basic science and clinical faculty across Rutgers University and various other institutions.
