Core Research Facilities
The research programs of our faculty have access to a wide range of modern scientific instrumentation and resources, both within the onsite laboratories of the School of Pharmacy and across the university in the core research facilities of our Rutgers affiliates. As researchers within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, pharmacy faculty and students benefit from a strong interdisciplinary collaborative research network, with many opportunities to utilize the university’s specialized facilities, technologies, services, and expertise.
Cell and DNA Repository Services and Materials
RUCDR Infinite Biologics provides biobanking services and biomaterials as well as scientific and technical support for researchers working to understand, diagnose, treat, and cure disease.
Animal Facilities
Rutgers is committed to the responsible and ethical care of animals and is accredited by the AAALAC. Our animal facilities include the Rutgers Animal Housing and Surgery Facilities, Center for Cancer Prevention Research animal facility, and Molecular Imaging Center.
Nanotechnology, Material Science, and Engineering Facilities
The Institute for Advanced Materials, Devices, and Nanotechnology houses research facilities and instrumentation that support science and technology driven by the atomic scale and nanoscale manipulation of materials.
Molecular Histology Services
The Molecular Histology Center, located next door to our building in the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI), supports researchers in performing a variety of quantitative and qualitative tissue section-based assays.
Confocal and Electronic Imaging Services
The Rutgers RWJMS Confocal Suite offers researchers two confocal microscopes with electronic imaging software, a spinning disc microscope and a Zeiss 510 microscope.
Biological Mass Spectroscopy Services
The Biological Mass Spectrometry Facility, located in the Center for Integrative Proteomics Research, has state-of-the-art instrumentation for the analysis of biological samples.
Transmission Electron Microscopy Services
The Core Imaging Laboratory is located at Rutgers’ School of Public Health and provides electron microscopy services, techniques, and expertise.
DNA Sequencing, Oligonucleotide Synthesis, and DNA Fragment Analysis
The DNA Core Facility of Rutgers’ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School provides quality DNA/RNA synthesis and related services.
