Graduate  Programs

Students aspiring to advanced pharmacy study find our school to be an inspired choice. Our school consistently ranks among the top recipients of pharmacy research funding from the National Institutes of Health, a testament to the cutting-edge nature of our work in a broad range of research areas. Scientists and healthcare analysts trained in our four graduate programs are highly competitive candidates for positions in academia, government, healthcare, and industry.

Medicinal Chemistry

Degrees offered

  • PhD in Medicinal Chemistry
  • MS in Medicinal Chemistry with thesis (full-time program)
  • MS in Medicinal Chemistry without thesis (full- or part-time program)

The Graduate Program in Medicinal Chemistry brings together graduate students and their faculty mentors in collaborative research projects that integrate synthetic organic chemistry with related disciplines to develop new drugs, enhance current drugs, and identify biologically active metabolites.

Pharmaceutical Science

Degrees offered

  • PhD in Pharmaceutical Science
  • MS in Pharmaceutical Science

The Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Science is ranked among the top programs in the field, offering young scientists the opportunity to conduct funded, cutting-edge research in pharmaceutical science alongside a multidisciplinary faculty working at the forefront of this new era of genomics and molecular and cellular pharmaceutics.

Toxicology

Degrees offered

  • PhD in Toxicology
  • MS in Toxicology

The Graduate Program in Toxicology trains the next generation of toxicologists to safeguard society from emerging environmental contaminants while supporting the development of new pharmaceutical products, in a collegial research community that incorporates multiple disciplines, including public health, occupational medicine, epidemiology, risk assessment, and public policy.

Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics

Degree offered

  • MS in Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics

The Master of Science Program in Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics, offered in partnership with Rutgers’ School of Public Health, is one of the few comprehensive graduate programs in this emerging and high-demand field, educating highly trained professionals to provide expert, research-based analysis of the economic costs and patient outcome consequences of health-related actions, decisions, and policies.
