The Department of Medicinal Chemistry is located within the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.  Within the Department is housed the Graduate Program in Medicinal Chemistry.  The graduate program is an interdisciplinary program which draws upon faculty from multiple departments including Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry, Plant Biology, Pharmacology, and Food Sciences.  Students have the opportunity to advance research in a multitude of medicinal chemistry-oriented fields including the development of small molecule antivairals and chemotherapeutics, the discovery of novel synthetic organic methods, and natural product isolation and applications. The Department exists within the wider New Jersey Biomedical Community which includes 14 of the worlds largest research pharmaceutical community. The Graduate Program offers the opportunity to earn either a M.S. or Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry.
