Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, in coordination with Rutgers Global, sponsored a two-week intensive educational program for a delegation of 31 visiting pharmacy students from three South Korean universities. The program showcased the diverse professional landscapes, clinical responsibilities, and expanding roles of pharmacists within the United States healthcare system.
The program focused on the pillars of American pharmacy practice: clinical, community, and industrial pharmacy. School of Pharmacy faculty and staff met with the students and provided specialized lectures, interactive professional activities, and high-fidelity clinical simulations. “Hosting this delegation allows us to foster vital international dialogue about the evolving scope of pharmacy practice,” noted Donna M. Feudo, Associate Dean for Experiential Education and Clinical Affairs.
In addition to participating in lectures at the School of Pharmacy, visiting students took part in a series of advanced healthcare simulations at the new Simulation Collaboratory Advancing Research, Learning, Education & Technology in New Brunswick, where they experienced immersive, hands-on scenarios in fast-paced, high-stakes medical environments, challenging them to apply theoretical knowledge to acute patient care.
The successful cross-cultural exchange highlights Rutgers University’s ongoing commitment to global academic partnerships and the advancement of healthcare education on an international scale.
