The theme of this year’s Roy A. Bowers Annual Rutgers Pharmaceutical Conference, sponsored by the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, was Innovation Through Crisis: Redefining Health Care Delivery. The meeting, which attracted a wide range of leaders from academia, the pharma industry, health systems, retail, population management, state government, and health care policy. was held on September 19, 2022 at the Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset NJ.
The annual conference provides a multi-stakeholder platform to discuss health care challenges, identify solutions, and engage key leaders to improve health outcomes. Leaders from academia, pharmaceutical industry, health systems, retail, population management, state legislatures, and health care policy actively participated this year. The conference highlighted the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic impact on the health care delivery model, population health, specialty trends, behavioral health, key legislative actions and implementation of lasting system change to improve healthcare delivery in a post-pandemic world. Faculty included key opinion leaders; Dr. Par Bolina, MD, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Innovation Officer, Calarity, gave the keynote address.
The conference, given annually for 70 years, is designed to break silos in New Jersey healthcare. It provides an interdisciplinary framework for speakers, panelists, and attendees alike are called upon to bring thoughtful solutions to the most pressing issues of the day.
