Phi Delta Chi is the first Professional Co-Ed Pharmacy Fraternity ever established. It was founded on November 2, 1883 at the University of Michigan by Albert Benjamin Prescott. The original Alpha Chapter started out with 11 Brothers, and as of today there have been 72 chapters chartered in pharmacy schools nationwide, with 66,000 men and women as Brothers. Phi Delta Chi stands behind the advancement of the science of pharmacy and promotes a strong fraternal bond among its members. The equal treatment of each other in terms of trust and respect is highly valued among the Brothers as well. In addition, Phi Delta Chi does not promote hazing of anyone who pledges to become a Brother. Afterall, Brotherhood is for life. The Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Delta Chi was founded on May 2, 1992 at the Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The chartering Alpha Class consisted of 32 Brothers, and today there are 56 active Brothers in the renamed Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. In total, 160 men and women can call themselves Brothers of the Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Delta Chi. The Brothers of Phi Delta Chi's Beta Nu chapter hope that you enjoy your visit to their website. They strongly urge you to consider carefully all of the opportunities awaiting you within Phi Delta Chi and the Beta Nu chapter at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. |
