Bio

Dr. Joseph E. Cruz earned his Pharm.D. degree from The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2012. Upon graduation from pharmacy school he completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 2013 and a PGY-2 specialty residency in Drug Information at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital through Rutgers University in 2014 where he served as chief resident. 

Currently, Dr. Cruz is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. Dr. Cruz’s practice site is Englewood Hospital Medical Center (EHMC) where he serves as a Clinical Coordinator in Internal Medicine, provides clinical pharmacy services to the institution’s Medical Teaching Team, and precepts pharmacy students and residents. In addition to providing clinical and educational services, Dr. Cruz is an active member of the hospital’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Residency Advisory Committee, and coordinates institution-wide adverse drug reaction reporting. Some of his areas of clinical focus include drug information, anticoagulation, medication safety, and pharmacovigiliance.

Dr. Cruz is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists (NJSHP).
