My research career has focused on the discovery of novel small molecule treatments for human disease, spanning several therapeutic areas. This work includes cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease, inflammation, oncology, neuroscience and pain. In each program, the appropriate drug discovery tools have been applied to solving scientific problems, including structure-based design, parallel synthesis, high throughput and phenotypic screening, and the evaluation of knockout mouse phenotypes to identify novel drug targets.
Our immediate research interests include the role of ApoE in Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injury and the structure-based design of kinase inhibitors for cancer and inflammatory disease.
